THE SURFACE THAT OFFERS THE FASTEST IMPLANT OSSEOINTEGRATION

The surface of AVINENT implants is the result of a series of scientific studies into the surface characteristics of dental implants with the aim of obtaining the best possible biological response. The surface, formed by a layer of titanium oxide, rich in calcium and phosphorus, is one of the most scientifically advanced surfaces available today in implantology.

ACCELERATION OF OSSEOINTEGRATION

Thanks to its chemical and microtopographic characteristics, the BIOMIMETIC ADVANCED SURFACE, produces stimulation of bone cells that favours their differentiation. Different in vitro studies made using human osteoblast cultures have demonstrated that the BIOMIMETIC surface promotes the production of alkaline phosphatase: an early indicator of osteoblastic differentiation that plays a very important role in the mineralisation of the extracellular matrix.

SURFACE AREA INCREASED BY 76 PERCENT

Thanks to the surface treatment of AVINENT implants, the contact surface area is increased by 76 percent. The increase in the surface increases the Bone Implant Contact (BIC), which gives more space for bone cells to anchor. The BIOMIMETIC ADVANCED SURFACE gives the surface of the implant an optimal structural roughness and a microporosity that, simultaneously, enables the incorporation of chemical elements (calcium and phosphorus) that give the final surface certain fully biomimetic properties.

HYDROPHILICITY

Results obtained through measurements of the contact angle have made it clear that the surface of the implant gives a performance that is clearly hydrophilic compared with other surfaces. This increased hydrophilicity, caused by the chemical and topographic variations in the surface, means an improvement in the interaction between the implant and the biological environment, which favours the adsorption of the proteins that intervene in the process of osseointegration.

INDUCING BONE CELL GENERATION

Various studies have corroborated the success of BIOMIMETIC superficial treatment. The implant surface topography makes the migration of the bone cells easier and also increases contact osteogenesis.
