3D dental models, personalisation on demand – Part 1

The range of dental models is very extensive and in addition to those dedicated to the finalisation of the prosthesis, there are multiple models for later use in the design and manufacture of aligners. Furthermore, even though these are more specific products, it is possible to obtain surgical splints, impression trays or crowns and calcinable bridges.

AVINENT has been working with these types of products for more than 10 years and thanks to the boom in 3D printing technology, it has managed to obtain very satisfactory results to become increasingly closer to a predictable and efficient model for the finalisation of CAD CAM structures. Not only is it necessary to have different types of technology, but we must also choose the right material depending on the application.

If we analyse the most requested option, the 3D printed models for the finalisation of the prosthesis are products that need to be versatile and possess special characteristics. It is necessary to be able to obtain models for natural teeth or implants, with removable teeth or soft gum and even to be able to choose between upper or lower full arches, half arches, or third-arches. This is all possible thanks to the use of different technologies and printing materials which offer the professional a whole host of possibilities.

One of the advantages of working with a centre that is highly capable and with an extensive knowledge of3D printing and CAD CAM milling is that you can find and acquire these models with the characteristics you are looking for at a more than competitive price. But more importantly, you are able to work with more implant connections. It is precisely with this in mind why AVINENT CAD CAM continuously designs new connections for the 3Shape, Exocad and Dental Wings digital libraries. The prosthetic technician is thus able to choose from a vast range of similar items for printed models with the connection that their customers use most and thus close the complete digital workflow. AVINENT, as a manufacture of implants, fully understands that these components must be manufactured under rigorous controls to provide the maximum precision and fit between the component and the milled prosthesis. To do so, the same tolerances as implants are used together with a high precision machining manufacturing process.

The true added value of the digital flow is that it guarantees that the process is totally controlled. The AVINENT dental printing models are an optimum product which combines the best of advanced 3D printing and high precision digital components in an open multi-platform system for a wide range of implant connections.
